PDFs or Portable Document Format files allow you to view a piece of printed literature on your screen, and can be printed. PDFs work on every computer (even on some phones and other mobile devices).

What are some of the benefits of using PDFs?

  • PDFs are always available to you. They can be downloaded immediately, 24/7, for free from strongtie.com.
  • PDFs are easy to print. Print only the pages you want, when you want them.
  • PDFs can be searched. Jump quickly to the information you need by using the “Find” feature within any PDF you are viewing.

How do I use PDFs?
Simply click on the link to a PDF file on strongtie.com to view and use a PDF. Most Internet browsers (such as Microsoft’s Internet Explorer) will read PDF files automatically, or you can download the free Adobe Reader program.

Once you have opened a PDF, you can:

  • Print a PDF: Ctrl-P on your keyboard, or click the Print icon above the PDF
  • Search within a PDF: Use the Find box above the PDF
  • Save the PDF to your computer: Use the Save icon above the PDF

There are links to PDF documents throughout this website. They are usually denoted by (PDF) after the link. The easiest ways to find PDFs are:
