The Simpson Strong-Tie Literature Library mobile app makes it easy to always have Simpson Strong-Tie product information at your fingertips. Using your iPhone or iPad, quickly access the 2011-2012 Wood Construction Connectors Catalog and Addendum, 2012-2013 Anchoring & Fastening Systems for Concrete and Masonry Catalog, and the 2011-2012 Fastening Systems Catalog. Each catalog in the app is fully searchable by keyword, including product name, number or description. An interactive table of contents enables you to go directly to a product page with one click. You can also zoom in to view drawings and tables in detail. The app will be arriving soon for Android devices in the Google Play Store. With the Simpson Strong-Tie Dealer Locator mobile app, you can easily locate dealers carrying Simpson Strong-Tie products while on the go. Use your current location or enter a zip code, choose a search distance or limit your search to dealers carrying a specific product line. With the tap of a button, you'll get a list of nearby dealers and a map plotting their locations. Selecting a dealer displays their address and phone number and allows you to get directions, visit their website, copy store information to the clipboard, or dial their phone number directly from the iPhone. Largest Shake Table Test Research Awarded Raymond C. Reese Prize
In 2009, Simpson Strong-Tie collaborated on the NEESWood Capstone project in Japan, the world's largest earthquake shake table test. A research paper based on the project's testing and results, "Experimental Seismic Response to a Full-Scale Six-Story Light-Frame Wood Building," co-authored by Steve Pryor, M.ASCE, International Director of Building Systems for Simpson Strong-Tie, along with John W. van de Lindt, M.ASCE, Shiling Pei, M.ASCE, H. Shimizu and H. Isoda, was awarded the 2011 Raymond C. Reese Research Prize by the American Society of Civil Engineers. The prize is awarded annually to a notable achievement in research related to structural engineering, with special consideration for how the research can be used. The award was presented at the 2012 Structures Congress in Chicago on March 29-31. |
