AT-XP™ Anchoring Adhesive

The new AT-XP anchoring adhesive is a fast cure, high-strength adhesive for anchoring and doweling in concrete. A truly versatile formulation, AT-XP adhesive cures quickly in warmer temperatures and still dispenses easily and cures reliably in colder environments.

Rigorously tested in accordance with ICC-ES AC308 and IBC 2009 requirements in both cracked and uncracked concrete, reduced temperature test results have shown AT-XP adhesive to perform in substrate temperatures as low as 14° F (-10° C). The adhesive dispenses easily at below-freezing temperatures without the need to warm the cartridge. ATC Wind Speed Calculator

The Applied Technology Council (ATC) offers a web-based tool that finds location-specific wind speed using the GPS coordinate system. This free utility interpolates wind speeds to the nearest mile per hour based on the wind contours on the map using Google Maps as the platform. Specific sites can be located by using street maps or satellite images. Wind speeds are provided in 3-second-peak gust speeds for the three Risk Category maps provided in ASCE 7-10 and for 10, 25, 50 and 100-year return periods. New Simpson Strong-Tie Kent, WA Facility Opens

Simpson Strong-Tie recently relocated its Pacific Northwest operations to a new facility in Kent, WA in an effort to prepare for future growth. The relocation has doubled the manufacturing floor, warehouse space and training area of the former location. The new facility also includes a showroom featuring applications of various Simpson Strong-Tie product lines.

A grand opening event was held on October 1, with Kent Mayor Suzette Cooke, Economic Development Specialist Josh Hall and City Councilmember Dana Ralph along with Simpson Strong-Tie employees, customers and distributors participating. The festivities included a ribbon cutting ceremony, open showroom, and tours of the new facility. The building's training center will host more than 500 individuals in the building industry annually, including structural engineers, contractors and distributors, building officials and others. Simpson Strong-Tie has been in the Kent, WA area since May 1999.
