Simpson Strong-Tie Launches Innovative Anchor Designer™ Software with Interactive 3D Interface

Simpson Strong-Tie is excited to introduce new Anchor Designer™ professional design software for ACI 318, ETAG and CSA. This innovative software replaces Anchor Selector™ for ACI 318 and Anchor Selector™ for ETAG software, and is compatible with design files created with those programs.

Anchor Designer enables structural engineers to satisfy the strength design provisions of ACI 318 Appendix D, CAN/CSA A23.3 Annex D, ETAG 001 Annex C or EOTA TR029 design methodologies. The software quickly and accurately analyzes an existing design or suggests anchorage solutions based upon user-defined design elements in cracked and uncracked concrete conditions.

• Fully-interactive 3D graphic user interface
• Supports Imperial and Metric-Sized Simpson Strong-Tie mechanical and adhesive anchors
• Offers cast-in-place solutions
• Calculates up to 16 anchors in a single plate
• Calculates single or multiple variations of anchor models

• Available in English, German, French and Danish

Simpson Strong-Tie has been recognized as 2012 Preferred Supplier Partner of the Year by Sphere 1, a cooperative of independent tool and fastener distributors. Simpson Strong-Tie received the premier award over 84 other Sphere 1 preferred suppliers for the second year in a row.

The Preferred Supplier Partner of the Year Award goes to the organization that ranks highest overall across all six criteria, including sales volume increase over the previous year, growth percentage, number of members purchasing from the supplier, completion of Gateway for Growth Programs and Sphere 1 University student course completions in 2012. New Rafter Hanger Slope and Skew Online Calculator

Determining the slope and skew angles related to hip and valley beams can be a challenge made even more difficult when the roof slopes on each side if the hip or valley are different. The new Simpson Strong-Tie® Slope and Skew Calculator available online makes it easy by performing all of the necessary trigonometry for each hanger condition in the roof. Simply enter the roof pitches and press the "Calculate" button, and the calculator will supply the direction and precise angles for the framing members as well as the connectors.
