Strong-Drive Metal ScrewsNew Strong-Drive® XL Large-Head Metal Screw

To help installers keep the same spacing and easily substitute screws for pins or welds to fasten steel decking, Simpson Strong-Tie now offers the new patent-pending Strong-Drive® XL large-head metal screw. The screw is engineered as a one-for-one screw replacement option for pins and 5/8" welds. When used with the Quik Drive® BSD200 structural steel-decking system, these screws provide a convenient alternative to other methods of attaching steel decking, such as welding and powder-actuated tools.

The Quik Drive tool's extension enables stand-up-and-drive fastening to save time and reduce worker fatigue. Collated fastener strips eliminate fastener waste, and the patented Quik Drive auto-feed mechanism provides hands-free screw advancement, eliminating the need to handle individual screws. In addition, no special inspection or certifications are necessary as with welding and powder-actuated tools.

The Strong-Drive XL large-head metal screws are available in bulk as well as collated for use with the Quik Drive BSD200 auto-feed screw driving system. For more information about these fasteners and other steel decking fastening solutions, click here.
