DTT1Z

DTT1Z Deck Tension Tie Fastens from Outside the House

The new DTT1Z deck tension tie from Simpson Strong-Tie is a less invasive alternative for attaching a deck to a home and meets 2015 IRC® code standards. Instead of accessing floor joists from inside the house, the tension tie is designed to be fastened from outside the house, making it a safe and time-saving solution. The DTT1Z fastens to the narrow or wide face of a single 2x with Strong-Drive® SD Connector screws, while the new Strong-Drive SDWH Timber-Hex HDG screw and integral washer attaches the tension tie to the supporting structure with a minimum of 3" of penetration.

The DTT1Z comes standard with ZMAX® coating for additional corrosion protection and can be purchased individually or as part of a retail pack with screws. For more information, click here.

Strong-Wall Bracing Selector

New Strong-Wall® Bracing Selector

The Simpson Strong-Tie Strong-Wall Bracing Selector web app provides the narrowest bracing solutions possible for Strong-Walls and foundation anchorage design. This simple-to-use web app delivers pre-engineered Strong-Wall alternatives to code-prescribed braced wall panel with several data inputs, enabling users to quickly create design parameters and installation details.

The Strong-Wall Bracing Selector can be used in conjunction with the Simpson Strong-Tie Wall-Bracing-Length Calculator web app, which calculates the required length of wall bracing per the 2009 or 2012 IRC®. After determining wall-bracing length requirements, users can export project information and bracing requirements to the Strong-Wall Bracing Selector. The app includes a step-by-step tutorial along with a design example. To use the Strong-Wall Bracing Selector, click here.
