Simpson Strong-Tie News: July 2015

Simpson Strong-Tie® Tie-Wire Anchor

The new Tie-Wire anchor is a wedge-style expansion anchor for use in normal-weight concrete or sand-lightweight concrete over metal deck. The anchor features a tri-segmented, dual-embossed clip that adjusts independently to hole irregularities, making it ideal for the installation of acoustic ceiling grid. The tie-wire anchor also features a 1/4" eyelet for easy wire threading and is easily set with the claw end of a hammer. Click here to download the flier.

Last House Standing App

Last House Standing App Makes it Fun to Build a Safe Home

The Federal Alliance for Safe Homes (FLASH®) has released a new social gaming app to promote awareness for building safe, strong homes. The Last House Standing™ mobile app challenges players to build a unique house that will withstand a combination of natural disasters, including floods, hurricanes, wildfires, blizzards and tornadoes. Suitable for all ages and experience levels, Last House Standing teaches players how critical it is to build a home properly for different weather environments. Gamers can play in practice mode or challenge friends to see who has the last house standing.

Simpson Strong-Tie is a longstanding partner with FLASH, sponsoring StormStruck: A Tale of Two Homes® exhibit and the Simpson Strong-Tie® Structural Engineering and Construction Scholarship. FLASH partners share a vision that includes safe, strong and sustainable structures for every community.
