Simpson Strong-Tie News: September 2016

New Resources for Stopping Water Leaks

Simpson Strong-Tie has introduced RPSInject™, a premium line of injectable polyurethane resins used to stop the infiltration of water and mitigate the detrimental effects of that water on reinforced concrete structures. RPSInject polyurethane resin products are activated by water and use a MDI curing agent that's safe for contractors to use.

RPSInject is available in four different formulations targeted for different injection applications: RPS-100 in hairline cracks and for soil stabilization; RPS-101 in constantly submerged applications; RPS-102 in applications that come into contact with potable water; and RPS-103 in several applications, having the flexibility and water-stopping properties of both a hydrophilic and hydrophobic polyurethane. Also available are three RPSInject accessories: accelerator, injection ports and pump flush.

Simpson Strong-Tie Aids Louisiana Flood Relief

Simpson Strong-Tie made a $10,000 donation to assist in disaster relief response and recovery efforts following the severe flooding in Louisiana. The flooding, described as the worst natural disaster in the U.S. since Superstorm Sandy, damaged over 60,000 homes, resulted in 13 lives lost and caused more than 100,000 people to request federal aid.

The donation was given to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund specifically for Louisiana. To make a contribution and aid in disaster recovery efforts through the American Red Cross, visit redcross.org or send a donation to your local Red Cross chapter.

Re-Engineered Subfloor Screw Offers Faster Installation

The new Strong-Drive® WSV Subfloor screw increases installation speed and reduces driving force. The new re-engineered subfloor screw has been developed for fastening subfloor sheathing using the Quik Drive® auto-feed screw driving system.

The WSV screw features a redesigned tip and thread pattern that provides up to 25 percent less torque, resulting in a faster driving screw. It includes a deep-recessed, 6-lobed ribbed head that delivers cleaner countersinking and more secure bit retention for fewer cam-outs.
