| Supporting Habitat's Carter Work Project |
|
The Habitat for Humanity Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project is an annual event that brings together thousands of volunteers along with former President Carter and his wife, Rosalynn, to participate in a week-long effort of building, renovating and repairing homes for individuals and families in need. This year's Project took place in August in Memphis, Tennessee, and furnished 99 families throughout Shelby County, Tennessee, with new or improved places to call home. Twelve Simpson Strong-Tie volunteers were on site to help with the building and renovations. Simpson Strong-Tie is proud to sponsor this and other Habitat projects around the world.

| New Classes, Live Workshops and Online Training |
|
Each year, the training team at Simpson Strong-Tie holds hundreds of free public training workshops. Some of the classes to be offered in 2017 include Continuous Load Path – Wood-Framed Structures; Deck and Porch Framing Connection Seminar; Lateral-Force-Resisting Systems for Wood Construction; and Wall Bracing Workshop – 2015 IRC. In addition to live workshops, our library of more than 40 free online training courses can be accessed at any time. Topics of our online courses range from concrete repair design and installation to deck building and understanding moment frames and restraint rod systems.
