New, Stronger Foundation Plates Offer Wider Spacing Options

To make it easier for contractors to secure older homes to their foundations, we’ve launched two next-generation foundation plates for seismic retrofits that provide higher strength, giving installers more flexible spacing options when attaching first-floor framing to the foundation. The URFP and FRFP foundation plates are specifically designed for locations with limited vertical clearance, in basement areas or crawl spaces, where floors are supported directly on the mudsill or short cripple wall. The URFP and FRFP are the ideal solutions for safeguarding a home from sliding off its foundation during an earthquake.
